Requirements to travel to Dominican Republic (Santo Domingo)
Immigration rules for traveling to the Dominican Republic.
Passport
Keep in mind
Passport with a machine-readable zone (MRZ), valid during the stay and departure from the territory and with a minimum validity of 6 months from the travel date.
If you are Dominican with an expired passport from your country of birth, you must obtain a Route Letter (Carta de Ruta) at SAIME to leave Venezuela.
Visa
Keep in mind
Dominican visa stamped in the passport, valid and in force. Those holding a valid stamped visa of the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Ireland or a Schengen country (or a European Community passport) may also enter. The stay cannot exceed 90 days.
All additional documents (visas, resident cards, work permits) must be valid on entry.
Immigration form

Every passenger entering or leaving the Dominican Republic must fill in the immigration form on the official portal eticket.migracion.gob.do.
Health
Keep in mind
Yellow fever vaccination card. It does not apply to people over 60, pregnant women, children under 1 or transit passengers.
If you are in transit
Keep in mind
All passengers arriving at the airport go through the immigration check, including those in transit.
Without a visa, traveling is not recommended: you risk being sent back to your point of origin.
You must have the documents for the next destination: confirmed onward ticket, invitation letter, travel insurance and a visa if the country requires it.
A visa is not required for a connection of up to seven (7) hours, with the onward ticket for the same day.
Reference requirements: governments change them without notice and the immigration officer decides on arrival. Always confirm with the country's consulate or with TUCUAM before buying and traveling.
